Machine translation, for purposes like publication or corporate communication, will never replace human translation. However, it is free, and as such, it might appear to be an attractive solution in some cases. However, the output of the translation program (i.e. the machine) needs extensive editing if you want to understand exactly what the document in the original (source) language means or if you wish to publish the target-language text in one way or another.
