Rates

Rates charged for translations

by  Harcz & Partner Ltd. Translation, Localisation and Editing Company

The rates below apply to the English language word count except in the case of translation involving certain languages that are statistically much longer than English (namely Portuguese, Spanish and French). In these cases, the calculation is based on the number of words contained in the non-English text.

In the case of exotic languages, which often employ non-Roman characters, it is always the English-language word count that is applied. Our rates are flexible, subject to agreement in the case of each individual assignment whenever the volume and the deadline allow it.

It is always the amount of time and effort needed on our side that determines our quotation. However, you can take it for granted that our offer will be significantly more favourable than what you’d get from American or Western European translation companies.

Factors influencing our quotations include: language pair, subject matter, whether the text is hand-written or in an electronic format, the degree of urgency, special requirements, technical complexity of your project, the number of pages/words required per day, regularity of assignments, etc.

The rates below indicate our rates for translation from English PLUS editing and proofreading by native professionals exclusively.

Note that we are ready to translate at rates lower than indicated above in the case of most languages provided the assignment is a book or a really long text with a comfortable deadline.

It is thanks to the small profit margins we apply and our policy to employ translators on a very regular, long-term basis that we can offer these favourable rates. Usually, we outsource our projects directly to freelancers instead of further links in the chain, which contributes to our favourable pricing as well.

Our minimum charge is USD 50 per project, per language.

For the moment, payment is possible by bank transfer (wiring) only.

We look forward to receiving our first assignment from you.

Yours Sincerely:

10.10.2009. Our new website, Translation Company.org, is on-line.

13.11.2009. Thanks to a comprehensive revamping of our freelancer database, we can now offer even shorter deadlines in an even more predictable manner.

31.12.2009. We wish all our regular and occasional customers and translators a prosperous, successful and healthy 2010. A year in which the global financial crisis will hopefully gradually give way to an increase in turnover and a more stable demand for translation and localisation services.
