Harcz & Partner Ltd. makes it point only to use native lawyers and other university-educated legal experts on its legal translation and editing projects. This ensures that the target-language texts we deliver to our clients contain exactly the terminology employed in the jurisdiction and corporate legal parlance of the given country.
We translate text of the following types on a regular basis: legal contracts, agreements, minutes, statutes of law, rules and regulations, terms and conditions, corporate correspondence, business letters, wills, patents and other legal documents. (Continued after the picture.)
Harcz & Partner Ltd’s internal quality management system consists of a three-tier process whereby the translation is checked by another professional native linguist for terminological accuracy and consistency (editing) and a third native speaker for linguistic correctness (proofreading). These successive steps eliminate possible blemishes left in the translation by the legal translator.
We also provide editing services to our international clients. Legal texts sent to us by our clients are edited by a linguist with a university degree in law, who checks the material for both legal and linguistic errors, and corrects these. Generally, for editing, we charge roughly 30 - 50% of the rate charged for translation, but the exact rate depends on the quality of the text we receive from our client and the amount of time and effort to correct it. For this reason, on some occasions, it is more expedient to agree on an hourly rate instead of a per-word rate.
The languages into which we provide legal translation and editing range literally from Arabic to Zulu but our Eastern European, Western European and Icelandic departments are especially strong and competent.
